Adan joined StJFS after seeing the accounting and administrative struggles his sister faced while managing a learning center, taking away time she could be spending with students. Originally from San Jose, California, Adan currently resides in Los Angeles and can be found at a local athletic event in his time away from the office.

Favorite Saint: St. Michael the Archangel

Riva was born and raised in San Diego, California and attended San Diego State University. When asked what drew Riva to SJFS she stated, “As a Catholic, I love that my career allows me to support the Church through faith-based work. Living in a world where it’s often rewarded to keep your faith separate from your work, I’m so grateful that here I can be my true, authentic self. SJFS gives me the opportunity to use my accounting background to serve a greater purpose—helping parishes, schools, and dioceses manage their finances so they can focus on what they do best: living out the mission of the Church.”

One of the most meaningful experiences Riva had was volunteering to teach youth what it means to walk with God. “While I hoped to inspire them in their faith, I found that the experience impacted me just as much—if not more.” Riva intends to streamline processes and make everyone fall in love with Sage Intacct during her time at the firm.

When she’s not working, Riva loves traveling, “Traveling is my love language. I love to experience new cultures, food etc. Any chance I get, I am somewhere else in my free time.”

Favorite Saint – St. Jude

Kyle grew up in Downers Grove, IL and attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He was seeking a career where he could serve the Church through business and financial stewardship. Kyle has previous experience volunteering at our client Midtown Metro Learning Center and St. Mary of the Angels in Chicago.

Kyle’s goals include growing into a highly proficient advisor serving Catholic institutions with excellence and mentoring and supporting future advisors. When Kyle isn’t at work he enjoys playing soccer, running, and spending time with friends and family.

Favorite Saint – St. Joseph

Brittany joined St Joseph Financial Services in 2021 after she worked at a public accounting firm for six and a half years prior. She joined the STJFS team to work with and for other Catholics who share the same values, and to help foster a brighter financial future for Church institutions and schools. In her free time, Brittany likes to workout, hike and spend time with her family.

Greta hails from Stillwater, MN and graduated from Benedictine College in Kansas. She was drawn to SJFS because “our accounting services serve a larger purpose; our mission is directly correlated with the Catholic Church’s, which is a mission close to my heart. The culture here is great, very mission-driven and truly on fire for the Lord, in even the little things. Everyone is incredibly supportive and dedicated to intentional, continuous growth both for the individual and the organization.

Greta’s goals include, “helping SJFS continue to standardize our internal processes and, ultimately, to have my daily work be a constant prayer.” Outside of the office, Greta enjoys spending time with her husband and son. “When I’m not chasing baby giggles, I’m usually spending time with family and friends, going on family walks, cross-country skiing or running (depending on the season), or caught up in a good book.”

Nate is from Lansing, Michigan. He has a Philosophy degree from the University of St. Thomas and a Master of Accountancy degree from Davenport University. Nate was drawn to SJFS for a better balance in life, and to support a mission that is aligned to his own.

Nate aims to provide excellent service and peace of mind to its clients, allowing them to focus on their mission and not administration. When Nate isn’t working, he enjoys traveling, exploring, and spending time with his growing family cheering on Michigan State (Go Green!)

Favorite Saint – St. Maria Faustina Kowalska

Nick is from the Pittsburgh, PA area and attended St. Vincent College for his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting. Also, Nick is a Certified Non-Profit Accounting Professional (CNAP). Prior to working at SJFS, Nick gained experience in income tax (including 990s), bookkeeping, payroll, CAS/Advisory, fractional controllership, and non-profit accounting.

Nick is passionate about making a real tangible difference in people’s lives through his work. He cites that the team at SJFS is willing to show patience and empath while providing expert service and advice. When Nick isn’t working, he enjoys time with his wife and two sons. You can find Nick learning more about local history, the Civil War, Church Apologetics, model railroading, and football.

Favorite Saint – St. Ignatius of Antioch

Audrey is from Cleveland, Ohio and received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Franciscan University of Steubenville. Audrey was drawn to SJFS’ culture as a key reason to start her career here. “I have always heard great things about SJFS and how the firm is composed of Christ-like people who are dedicated and committed to their faith. Catholic schools, CYO athletics, and parish retreats and masses have been a huge part of my life since I can remember. The faith is integral to who I am today, and I’m glad to have been a part of the Catholic community in my most formative years. I am more than excited to be able to have that community now be a part of my professional life.”

During her time at SJFS, Audrey stated, “My goal here is to work hard and be a team player. I hope that I can help my fellow employees exceed just as much as I do my clients, all while growing in my faith along the way.”

In Audrey’s free time she enjoys running, playing board games with my family, traveling, and watching sports. Go Browns!

Matthew Keller joins SJFS as a Client Advisor after his service with the Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS). Matthew is an avid reader, and enjoys spending time with his wife. A native of New Orleans, Matthew brings his impeccable taste in food and a love of all things baseball to the SJFS team.

Favorite Saint: St. Isaac Jogues

Eric lives in Newtown, CT and joined St. Joseph Financial Services in 2023. Eric has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting, and a Master in Business Administration degree from Franciscan University of Steubenville. Prior to joining SJFS, Eric worked in the accounting field for eight years within the public accounting and financial services industries. Eric is passionate about serving Catholic parishes, schools, and organizations by providing them with quality accounting and advisory services. When Eric is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. You can find them traveling, hiking, playing tennis and pickleball.

Grant is from Grand Rapids, MI and attended the University of Notre Dame. Grant started as an SJFS intern and then joined the firm upon graduation. According to Grant, “Immediately I felt welcomed by the people here at SJFS. Everyone, regardless of his or her position in the firm, took time to form a relationship and to get to know me as a person. I think this mentality among the employees is then carried out in interactions with clients, making sure they are not left behind and are truly cared for.”

When Grant is not working he notes, “I really enjoy hiking and camping, beating my younger brother in pickup basketball, playing saxophone, and arguing for why Michigan is the best state in the union.”

Elise lives in Rochester, MI and graduated from Franciscan University of Steubenville, OH with a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 2024. Elise joined SJFS because she is passionate about serving the church through accounting and assisting parishes in their financial needs. She was also drawn to the supportive, positive and faith filled culture at SJFS. In her free time, Elise enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with her family in Michigan.

Favorite Saint: Saint Zelie Martin

Sam is from Saskatchewan, Canada and went to school at Franciscan University. He chose SJFS for a couple reasons. “Firstly, it’s a great way to serve the church in my work which I never thought would be possible. Secondly, I needed to be somewhere where mediocrity was not good enough, so SJFS was the perfect fit. Everyone here strives for excellence yet remains light hearted and doesn’t lose themselves in the work. With my time here I want to become excellent at the craft and serve Christ’s Church well.”

When Sam is away from the office he likes staying active and spending time with family.

Favorite Saints – St. Joseph and St. Paul

Stephen hails from Scranton, PA and attended Holy Cross College in South Bend, IN. According to Stephen, “What drew me to SJFS was seeing the need throughout our church for good financial reporting and stewardship, then finding the answer here at SJFS. I grew up going to good public schools but went to a Catholic College. Experiencing a radically different approach to education, it set me on a path to ensure that others have the opportunity to be taught in the light of the Catholic Church.”

Stephen’s goals include helping expand SJFS’s services to more Catholic organizations. “While SJFS is growing at an incredible pace, we have a large Church so there is more work to be done!”

In his free time, you can find Stephen watching his beloved New York Jets. Also, he enjoys “spending time with my beautiful wife watching movies, reading books, and adventuring to new places.”

Favorite Saint – St. John Paul II

Joseph Salyer is a Hoosier, born and raised in Michigan City, IN. He attended Purdue University and received a BS in Accounting. Joseph’s previous work included three years as an auditor with a regional accounting firm in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

As a Catholic accountant, Joseph wants to make sure his efforts contribute to a mission that he can get behind. “When I read the SJFS tagline ‘More time ministering. Less time administering’ I decided that’s where I wanted to work. I feel so fortunate to be able to directly contribute to the mission of our Church through my career.”

Outside of the office Joseph spends time exploring the trails and mountains in and around his home in Flagstaff, AZ. He recently walked 2,197 miles from Georgia to Maine on the Appalachian Trail. Finally, Joseph enjoys spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews.

Katheryn was born and raised in Sunbury, Ohio and stayed close to home to attend Franciscan University. She was drawn to SJFS by the opportunity to work with a community of genuine mission–driven people, much like she had at Franciscan. In Kat’s time outside of the office she enjoys spending as much time as she can with family and friends.

Favorite saint – Saint Kateri Tekakwitha

Sandra Shamoun joins SJFS as a Client Advisor. She was drawn to SJFS by its offering to her of working to further Catholic education, and looks forward to being able to serve God in a different way. Sandra was the founder of local basketball league at her Parish, and in her time away from the office loves to spend time with her 3 children and enjoying new restaurants around her city.

Favorite Saint: St. Philomena

Will Sharp resides in Raleigh, NC and studied Accounting at Franciscan University in Steubenville, OH. Will was drawn to SJFS by the team’s culture and mission. “Everyone here is so welcoming and genuine and driven towards the mission of the Church. Being able to use my personal skills to help further the Catholic Church’s mission of education and evangelization is a blessing that I did not expect to find.”
One of Will’s first projects was supporting the onboarding of the Archdiocese of Boston. According to Will, “Being part of the Boston onboarding was a tall task but became a huge success once it was finished. I was able to work with Eric to accomplish various tasks related to this process.”
When Will isn’t crunching numbers, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, working out, watching sports, reading, and getting outdoors.

Favorite Saint: St. Maximilian Kolbe

Katelyn is originally from Oklahoma, but now calls Des Moines, IA home. A graduate of Benedictine College, Katelyn joined SJFS after working at Deloitte. “I realized that my career goals were not to climb the corporate ladder, but rather to do something meaningful for a smaller organization that shares the same values. The team is incredible. Everybody is so personable, and we are all on the same team, working for the same mission. It is refreshing to work with people who are real, vulnerable, and so passionate about serving the church and using their talents.”

According to Katelyn, “When I am not in the office, you will probably find me outside. Walking, running, hiking, tending to my garden, going to the lake, pickleball, etc. I am most fulfilled when the weather is warm, and the sun is shining, and I can move my body! I also have started canning things, making sourdough, and bottling my own kombucha!”

Favorite Saint – St. Therese of Lisieux

Abby is from Southern Maryland and graduated from Franciscan University of Steubenville. She desires to use her accounting knowledge to make a difference in the lives of others in the Church. Specifically, Abby wants to help SJFS’ clients with
quantifiable improvement and increased financial freedom over time.

When asked what it is like to work at SJFS, Abby stated, “Staff members are friendly and encouraging. I feel like I belong here which motivates me to strive for excellence. Away from work, Abby likes to cook, read, and spend time with family and friends.

Favorite Saint: St. Therese of Lisieux

Mary Stange is a native of Iowa and alumni of Franciscan University, Steubenville. Mary began her time with SJFS a Client Specialist, later assuming the role of Client Advisor where she is excited to serve clients in a new role across Catholic education. In her time outside the office, Mary enjoys spending time with her three daughters and on her podcast, “I am a Pain Patient.” She also manages a small group for women looking to challenge their mindset on health and wellness through true connection and support.

Favorite Saint: St. Anthony of Padua

Tommy Sweet is from Cleveland, OH and studied Accounting at Franciscan University. He was drawn to SJFS “because of their unique mission to serve the Church and its financial needs.” When asked about his goals for his time at SJFS, Tommy responded, “I would like to pursue my CPA and continue to help both SJFS and the Catholic Church grow in the right way. I truly admire the work that SJFS does and I want to help nurture that growth.”

In his free time, Tommy enjoys being active playing soccer and pickleball. He also plays guitar and supports Cleveland and Ohio State sports teams.

Favorite Saint – St. Paul

Angie has lived and worked in the diocese of Arlington, VA after graduating from Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio. She previously worked teaching High School Theology and in Parish Administration. Angie was drawn to SJFS because of the mission to provide much needed help to parishes across the country.

According to Angie, “I love working at SJFS. The team is supportive and kind and brings a genuine faith component to the workplace that is refreshing and uplifting.”

When Angie isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with he husband and 6 amazing kids. You can find them camping, relaxing at the beach, or at soccer and lacrosse fields.

Favorite Saint – St. John Paul the Great

Michael was born and raised in San Jose, CA and received an accounting degree from the University of Nevada – Reno. Michael was drawn to SJFS due to “its rapid growth and noble mission.”

On the SJFS culture, Michael stated, “The SJFS team is everything I was hoping for, an environment that encourages questions and learning while also being friendly and all-around great people.”

After work, Michael enjoys hanging out with friends. He’s found cooking to be therapeutic and likes finding new recipes.

Brianna is from Temecula, CA and attended trade school. She was inspired by SJFS’ mission and their desire to support institutions that help form students and communities in faith. “Being a part of SJFS has allowed me to live out my faith and minister to my community in a meaningful way.”

When away from work, Brianna enjoys spending quality time with her family, trying new recipes, DIY projects, and reading.

Danielle grew up in a military family and moved to Phoenix, AZ after graduating from Franciscan University. While at Franciscan University, Danielle digitized the campus directory to improve student workers’ efficiency. 

When asked what it is like being a part of the SJFS team, Danielle stated, “The moment I started working at STJS I knew there was something different about this company. Everyone was so welcoming and you could feel the energy of people who loved what they did without even being in the same room as them. This team, no matter what position they are in, cares about everyone that they work with. It is refreshing to be able to go onto any meeting or talk with anyone and know we are striving for the same thing and working towards building the Kingdom.”

Outside of work, Danielle loves to bake and cook. You can find her trying a new coffee place or exploring around Phoenix with her husband.

Elisabeth resides in her hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina, and is a proud graduate of Franciscan University of Steubenville. She brings a strong background in accounting services, having served both Catholic non-profit organizations and secular institutions. Her time working for the Church sparked a deep passion for using her professional skills to support and strengthen the Catholic community. Elisabeth was drawn to SJFS’ mission to empower the Church through excellent service and to build lasting, authentic relationships along the way. Here at SJFS, Elisabeth’s goal is to build a long-term career where she can continue to grow and learn from the incredible accounting professionals around her.

Outside of work, she enjoys reading, staying active, traveling, and spending time practicing piano and improving her Spanish.

Shirley Yaich is a Client Advisor joining SJFS after years of ministry in the Church. A long-time Catholic education supporter, Shirley joins SJFS after a career serving schools, parishes and chanceries. When she is not working, Shirley can be found traveling with her husband across the country, or sticking close to home in Michigan exploring the state.

Favorite Saint: St. Kateri

Kim has worked with numerous Diocesan clients over the past 10 years and brings payroll and project management expertise to her role as our Product Manager for Payroll Services. A graduate of Indiana University with a degree in business administration and an emphasis on mass communication, she loves developing relationships and helping enable clients to thrive.

In her spare time, Kim is an avid reader and photographer, and enjoys spending time with her husband and their two kittens.

Joey grew up in Wisconsin, graduated from Florida Institute of Technology, and now resides in Colorado. She was drawn to SJFS because her work involves “strengthening the Church through stewardship, structure, and service.”

When asked what it is like being a part of the SJFS team, Joey responded, “The culture at SJFS is mission-driven, collaborative, and deeply service-oriented. There’s a shared understanding that our work matters and protects and sustains Catholic institutions. I am impressed with the Payroll team’s expertise, humility, and responsiveness, which creates a culture of trust both internally and with clients.”

Away from the office, Joey enjoys “reading, spending time with my grand nephews and nieces, pet sitting for friends and family (which gives me my “dog” fix), and continuing to grow in faith and leadership. I’ve been actively involved in OCIA and Sacrament Prep programs with various parishes. I’m always exploring ways to integrate mission, strategy, and intentional living — both personally and professionally.’

Megan grew up in the Chicago area and attended the University of Notre Dame. After living in Boston for a few years, Megan and her husband now reside in Chicago. She was interested in SJFS for its mission and the ability to serve Catholic schools, given her Catholic education has been instrumental in her formation.

Megan enjoys volunteering whether it is helping with faith formation, retreats, and even cooking for all the brothers and priests at her church! Additionally, Megan and her husband enjoy the Chicago restaurant scene, going outdoors, baking and reading a good book.

Favorite Saints – Sts. Louis and Zelie Martin

Daniela resides in East Waterford, PA but she grew up in Abington, PA, a suburb of Philadelphia. Daniela received degrees in Business Administration and Accounting from Bucks County Community College and the Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science.

Daniela heard about SJFS from her son-in-law, Mark Mannerino, and was excited to join a firm with a strong mission. According to Daniela, “Being a part of this wonderful team is truly a blessing. Everyone is so supportive and caring of one another. Everyone was so welcoming when I started that I felt as though I was already a part of the team.”
In developing her goals, Daniela hopes to be able to use her accounting knowledge and skills to help relieve some of the financial burdens that our clients deal with, and to further the company’s mission. She wants to bring service to them in any way that she can.

When Daniela isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her family. She also enjoys working on crafts and being outside working in her flower beds.

Scott Tassan joined St. Joseph Financial Services in November 2019. He is a business professional with over 20 years of hands-on experience in accounting, business management, project management, as well as customer and vendor relationship management. His experience includes co-founding and managing TNT Media Productions, a video production and corporate event-staging company, as their Financial Controller and an Executive Producer for more than 10 years. Prior to joining St. Joseph Financial Services, Scott was a Staff Accountant for Confie Insurance Group Holdings, Inc., a large Insurance company with over 4,000 employees, specializing in non-standard auto insurance policies. Scott lives in Allen, TX with his wife, two daughters (19 & 13), and son (6). He enjoys participating in, and spectating for, his children’s various academic and sporting activities. In addition, Scott is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys camping, off-roading, and primitive survival.

Jonathan Boulos serves as Chief Executive Officer of St. Joseph Financial Services, a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the financial foundations of Catholic institutions. Since 2019, he has led the organization’s mission to provide integrated, technology-driven accounting and financial management services that empower ministries to focus on their core mission.

In addition to his executive leadership, Jonathan is an Adjunct Assistant Teaching Professor at the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business, where he teaches in the Department of Accountancy and mentors future professionals in values-based financial management.

A Certified Public Accountant, Jonathan’s career includes senior financial roles at Central Catholic High School, Valley First Credit Union, and California Cedar Products Company. He holds an Executive Master of Nonprofit Administration from the University of Notre Dame, where he graduated cum laude and received the David J. LaBarre Community Service Award, and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Franciscan University of Steubenville, graduating magna cum laude.

Grounded in faith and stewardship, Jonathan is passionate about advancing the Church’s mission through excellence, integrity, and service in financial leadership.

Brenda has more than 20 years of experience in financial and leadership roles including time at a Big Four public accounting firm to begin her career, 10 years at Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS), and, most recently, 5 years as CFO of the Archdiocese of Denver. She serves on numerous non-profit boards and councils and is grateful for the opportunity to serve the mission of the Church through her God given gifts of leadership and administration. Brenda holds a BBA in accounting from the University of Houston and is a CPA formerly licensed in Texas. She and her husband, Troy, are active in their parish, enjoy traveling, skiing and hiking together and with their five grown children.

Favorite Saint – St. Catherine of Siena

Geoff joined St. JFS after a long tenure in the automotive industry to pursue his passion of service to the Church and to Catholic education. A native of southern Michigan, Geoff joined St. JFS to pursue what he called an “opportunity to combine the love of my Catholic faith in a consumer-focused, entrepreneurial manner.” Geoff enjoys spending his time away from the office with his wife and three children, and is also an active member of the Knights of Columbus. He received undergraduate degrees from the University of Michigan-Dearborn in Business Administration and Corporate Communications, and obtained his MBA in Marketing and Product Development from the University of Detroit Mercy.

Favorite Saint: St. Anthony of Padua

Anthony is from Turlock, CA and studied Computer Engineering at the University of California – Santa Barbara (UCSB). He has an extensive background in technology and strategy. He brings years of experience from corporate SaaS where he worked as a presales technology consultant, as well as working in project management at a university, and even teaching Math to secondary school students.

Additionally, Anthony has been involved in running multiple nonprofit organizations on a volunteer basis over the past 10 years. At SJFS, Anthony will be responsible for optimizing internal processes and systems, while also supporting client digital transformations. Outside of work you can find Anthony spending time with family and friends, playing and watching sports, traveling, and eating good food. He also volunteers his time for a few nonprofit organizations that are close to his heart.

Favorite Saint: St. Thomas the Apostle

Meg was born and raised a buckeye from Columbus, Ohio, and formally took that title when she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Communication from the Ohio State University. She has a background in youth ministry working for the Church, and the mission of StJFS is what motivated her to join the team. When Meg is not at work she enjoys spending time with her family, getting outside for a walk or hike, sipping wine – and plan her future travels to European countries.

Favorite Saint: St. Claire of Assisi

Marguerite grew up in the mountains in California near Lake Tahoe, and currently lives in Orlando, Florida. She attended Franciscan University for her degree in computer science. According to Marguerite, “I’m very passionate about my faith and believe the services that SJFS provide will have a big impact on the Church’s outreach. I have heard from family working in the back offices for parishes about the need for SJFS’ services.”

Marguerite’s goals include, “learning a lot and improve the quality of life for my co-workers by streamlining or automating repetitive tasks.” When Marguerite isn’t working, she loves spending time with her backyard chickens as well as painting and knitting. Additionally, Marguerite loves to sing and has helped organize choirs in 3 parishes.

Favorite Saint – St. Rita of Cascia

Maggie grew up in Ann Arbor, MI as the 4 th of 8 children in a loving, Catholic family. She studied
Accounting and Finance at Benedictine College. Maggie brings project management experience
from a Marketing firm in Chicago, and the National Eucharistic Congress in Denver where she
currently resides.

At SJFS, Maggie leads our Sage Intacct Implementation work for our clients.

When Maggie is not working, she professes to be, “an extroverted introvert who loves mornings (preferably filled with prayer & coffee), reading, hospitality, travel, the state of MI, and good conversations/quality time with my friends and family!
