New Hire Announcement: Payroll Product Manager Kim Kelly

We are happy to announce the most recent hire at St Joseph Financial Services, Kim Kelly! Kim joins our Diocesan Support Staff as our Payroll Product Manager, where she will work to ensure that our clients have the access and expertise needed to streamline payroll operations for their team. Read below to learn more about Kim, and join us in welcoming her to SJFS!

Where are you from, and where did you go to college?

I’ve lived in South Bend most of my life, and didn’t even leave for school.  I attended IU’s campus here where I studied communication and earned my degree in business administration.

What drew you to SJFS? What made you want to join their team and work to further Catholic education?

I met members of SJFS’s team through work with a mutual client.  I worked for a SaaS payroll provider and SJFS began providing accounting services for several of the client’s schools.  When my employer decided to sunset the payroll platform, SJFS reached out to see if I would be interested in joining their team.  I am very excited to be a part of this team and to continue working with Diocesan clients.

What’s a big “win” you’ve been involved with that has had an impact on a parish, Diocese, or Catholic school?

Working on payroll with Diocesan clients you encounter diverse backgrounds and skill sets of staff handling payroll.  Anywhere from a volunteer parishioner to a CPA, and helping them ensure that employees are paid properly, compliantly, is extremely important for both the employees and the church.  The bonus aspect is building relationships and helping the payroll person gain confidence.

What is it like being part of the SJFS team? How would you describe the culture and people you work with?

The team here at SJFS is awesome – very caring, open and supportive!  Working for a non-profit means we can truly focus on the needs and in the interest of our clients, and that helps   support their mission.

What are your goals for your time at StJFS?

My goal while at SJFS is to help develop the payroll service offering with an end goal of helping clients become more efficient, and supports their service missions.

What do you do in your time away from the office?

I am an avid reader, an amatuer photographer, and hang out with my husband and our two kittens.
